Tips for Growing Your Hair!

SAVE THIS POST 💛!

For me, traditional sew-ins coupled with smoothing treatments, oiling my scalp, and protein plus deep conditioning treatments has helped me significantly. Because I’m a hairsylist, I do my own sew-ins. During my braid downs, I made sure to moisturize my braids as I did my braid down then I would oil my scalp and use a weaving net to protect my hair. I only kept the sew-ins in for 4 weeks. Due to my hair density, 6 weeks was pushing it and 8 weeks was a heck no!

When I take my sew-in down, I shampoo with a clarifying shampoo then a hydrating shampoo, and proceed with a protein mask then a deep conditioner. Every 8 weeks, I trim my ends and I do not hold on to bad ends! THIS IS KEY!

You cannot mend split ends. Just cut them off and your hair will flourish, sis! To prevent split ends, moisturize your hair and seal your ends with an oil.

Sew-ins may not be the protective style of choice for you. But, for me, it worked well. Without my smoothing treatments every 8 weeks, I would not have been able to wear my leave out.

Hair growth is an internal process as well. If you're struggling with hair growth, add vitamins and protein to your diet. Key vitamins I recommend are Biotin, Zinc, Iron, D3, and Fish Oil. Be sure to intake enough protein (80-120g) so your new growth is strong and healthy!

✨I'm working to get my hair fully healthy and waist length! 💛

... Read moreExperiencing hair loss can be a challenging journey, especially after childbirth. Postpartum hair loss is a common issue that affects many new mothers due to hormonal changes, resulting in shedding and breakage. To combat this, maintaining a consistent hair care routine is crucial. Protective styles, like sew-ins or braids, play a vital role in safeguarding your hair from everyday damage while encouraging growth. Moisturizing your scalp regularly and sealing your ends with oil are key practices that help retain moisture, preventing dry hair and split ends. In addition to topical care, consider incorporating vitamins and proteins into your diet. Nutritional support can significantly influence hair health from the inside out. Biotin, vitamin E, and omega-3 fatty acids are known to promote stronger and healthier hair growth. Staying hydrated and well-nourished will further support your hair recovery journey. Don’t forget to tend to your mental well-being as well; the stress of motherhood can also impact hair health. Regularly assessing your hair's condition, such as trimming split ends, can prevent further breakage and promote a healthier look. Remember, everyone's hair growth journey differs, so patience and consistency are key. Celebrate your milestones and seek support from your community as you navigate through these changes!

I think my hair is healthy enough but I used to trim my hair every 2-3 months and I would be cutting off the inch or so I grew and then do it all over again
