from @chudeity As part of our next exclusive report, here we are with our compatroits in Johannesburg:

Their Air Peace flight arrived Nigeria this morning.
We have spent the past 3 days to transverse Johannesburg, Pretoria, and Durban talking to EVERYONE, to answer one big question:
IS SOUTH AFRICA A XENOPHOBIC COUNTRY ?
This series will shock you.
It's an ARISE News Special in partnership with #WithChude.
Coming next week.
Having observed and spoken to many Nigerians directly impacted by the decision to leave South Africa, it became clear that the situation is complex and deeply emotional. Many originally moved to South Africa seeking better economic opportunities, but the reality of xenophobic attitudes and violence forced a growing number to reconsider their future there. The process of voluntary and emergency repatriation involved careful coordination, from clearance and profiling to airport logistics at O·R·TAMBO. It was reassuring to see media access allowing this story to be told with transparency, highlighting the resilience of those affected. Some shared their heartbreak in leaving behind their ambitions and the communities they had built. This experience sheds light on the broader socio-political tension within South Africa concerning migrants and refugees. While not every interaction was hostile, the fear of xenophobia is a daily reality for many. This documentary series aims to unpack these experiences further, showing the human side beyond the headlines. For those interested in migration dynamics in Southern Africa, this story is essential viewing. It provides insights not only into the challenges faced by Nigerians and other immigrants but also into how countries manage immigration, social cohesion, and human rights in difficult circumstances. Stay tuned for the series release on ARISE TV and join the conversation with #WithChude to better understand the multifaceted issue of xenophobia in South Africa and its impact on real lives.
