It may be a part that would normally be thrown away, but in our farm we never waste it 🙅♀️
These are all mixed into the compost.
The goal is not to make it a direct fertilizer, but to make it the "best food for microorganisms" * * that enriches the soil.
Invisible microorganisms take time to eat the scraps from asparagus, decompose them, and brew fluffy soil. The vitality of the soil pushes up the asparagus that grows next, thicker and sweeter ✨

アスパラ収穫時に切り落とされる根元や未熟な芽は、一見すると捨てるべきもののように思えますが、実際には農園の生命力を支える重要な資源です。私の経験からも、この「切り落とし部分」を堆肥に混ぜて土に還すことで、目に見えない微生物たちが活発に働き、土壌が豊かになっていくのを感じています。 アスパラの収穫では、規格に合ったちょうど良い長さで刈り取り、硬くて食べづらい根元部分や生育 が不十分な芽を慎重にカットしています。これらをそのまま廃棄せずに一輪車に集めて堆肥に混ぜる作業は、まさに自然の循環を体現した方法と言えるでしょう。 時間をかけて微生物がこれらの有機物を分解すると、ふかふかとした豊かな土が形成されます。この土壌は単なる栄養分の源ではなく、アスパラが太くて甘い実をつけるための基盤となり、長期的に農園の生産力を高めます。こうした自然なサイクルを守ることで、農薬や化学肥料に頼らず、安心して食べられる野菜作りが可能になるのです。 また、収穫時にハサミと棒を使って長さを正確に測りながら作業するなど、細やかな工夫も重要です。規格外のものや傷んだ芽も堆肥に混ぜることで、無駄を出さずに資源を最大限に活用する農園のこだわりは、循環型農業の理想を示しています。 私自身も家庭菜園で取り入れてみると、土の状態が驚くほど改善し、翌年の収穫が楽しみになる成果を感じました。農園でのこういった工夫と努力があるからこそ、おいしいアスパラが食卓に届いているのだと実感しています。ぜひ皆さんも、この循環の力を理解し、自然と共に生きる農業の素晴らしさに触れてみてください。
