I think it depends on the couple.

Some people are very sexual, and intimacy is how they connect emotionally. I think a mismatch in libido can genuinely create tension and resentment

But for other couples, love + communication matters more to them than the amount of intimacy you have. Some people go through phases—stress, hormones, pregnancy, babies, depression, health issues—where their drive just isn’t the same. That doesn’t mean they’re any less in love than they were before.

I think the REAL issue is when one partner shuts down all intimacy without communicating.
