Night 89 of reading the Bible 🫶

Sometimes we assume that God won’t have us do anything significant and that He’ll leave the major work for the really talented people. But God’s power is limitless, and when He appoints, He equips us by the power of His Spirit, especially if we think we are not capable. For ultimately, it is God working through us that accomplishes what He desires for us so that His glory is revealed in our lives. Prayer: Lord, thank You for making me a part of Your kingdom. I feel inadequate to do the things that You have called me to do. So I trust in Your power to carry me through the work that is before me. Strengthen me and use me for Your kingdom’s sake, so that Your glory may be made known in all that I do. In Jesus’ name, amen.@KnightofJc

... Read moreThere's something uniquely serene about settling down with my Bible after a long day. It's my special time to connect, reflect, and find peace. If you're looking to cultivate a more peaceful evening routine, incorporating Bible reading can be incredibly transformative. I often find myself drawn to passages that remind me of God's boundless strength, especially when I'm feeling overwhelmed or inadequate. The verse from Ephesians 3:20, 'Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,' is a constant source of comfort. It beautifully captures the essence of what I shared in my main post – that God equips us, not based on our limited ability, but on His limitless power working within us. This truth has transformed my perspective on what I can achieve through Him. Creating a truly peaceful atmosphere is key for me. I love dimming the lights, maybe lighting a soft lamp, and just letting go of the day's distractions. Sometimes, I even visualize a tranquil scene, like green hills and calm water, as I read, allowing my mind to fully immerse in the Word. It helps me quiet the noise and truly focus on what God is speaking to my heart. This quiet time becomes a sacred space where worries fade and faith grows. For those moments when I feel like I'm not enough, or that God wouldn't use someone like me for significant things, Ephesians 3:20 is a powerful antidote. It’s a reminder that it's His power, not mine, that accomplishes His will. This understanding transforms my 'Night Prayer' from just asking for help to actively trusting in His incredible ability to work through me. It's liberating to know that I don't have to rely solely on my own strength. If you're wondering where to start, try focusing on Psalms for comfort and solace, or New Testament letters like Philippians or Colossians for encouragement and understanding of God's grace. Reading a chapter or even just a few verses, then pausing to reflect and pray, can bring immense peace. It's not about how much you read, but the quality of your time with God. Let His Spirit guide you, just as the verse says, 'according to the power that worketh in us.' Even a few minutes dedicated to His Word can make a world of difference. This nightly ritual has become my anchor. It helps me release my worries and rest in the assurance that God is in control and has a plan. So, if you're seeking a deeper, more peaceful connection with God before you sleep, I highly recommend dedicating some time to quiet Bible reading and heartfelt 'Night Prayer.' You'll be amazed at the strength and peace you find, truly experiencing God working exceedingly abundantly through you.
