What are you currently doing to invest in yourself and your growth?
Good morning friends! Happy Saturday! I am starting my morning filling my brain with some awesome goodness at the 3rd Annual Swallowing Symposium.
One thing I have learned over the years is that growth does not only happen in a classroom or at a conference. Sometimes it happens through a book that challenges your perspective, a podcast that sparks a new idea, a Bible study that speaks directly to your heart, or a conversation that helps you see things differently.
Lately, I have been listening to The Hungry Brain, renewing certifications, and continuing to expand my knowledge as a speech-language pathologist. I also make time to invest in personal growth because learning extends far beyond our careers.
No matter where life finds you today, there is value in continuing to learn and grow. Whether it is for your career, your health, your relationships, or your faith, every bit of knowledge helps shape who you are becoming. We do not need to have all the answers. We simply need a heart that remains teachable.

Beyond traditional conferences, I find that personal growth can take many forms, such as listening to insightful audiobooks like "The Hungry Brain," which challenges our understanding of human behavior and decision-making.
Renewing certifications, especially in specialized fields like speech-language pathology, keeps your skills sharp and relevant. It also serves as a reminder that learning doesn't stop after formal education. In my experience, integrating different learning modalities—whether through podcasts, engaging conversations, or even spiritual practices like Bible study—provides a balanced approach to growth.
One key takeaway I've embraced is the importance of staying teachable. Growth happens not just when we actively seek knowledge but when we remain open to new perspectives and guidance. Proverbs 1:5 echoes this sentiment beautifully, reminding us that wisdom comes from listening and continually adding to what we know.
Investing in yourself is truly a holistic endeavor. It shapes your career, enhances your relationships, improves your health, and deepens your faith. Even small daily choices, like dedicating time to a podcast or reflecting on a meaningful conversation, compound over time to create profound personal development. Whatever path you choose, the goal remains the same: a heart and mind open to growth.
