Things I wish I knew as a young mom

Vulnerability

🤍 I wish I could go back to when I was 18 and tell myself that God knew what he was doing when he gave me her.

🩶I Wish I could go back to when I was 19 and tell myself that I was doing ok. I wish I could go back to when I was 20 and hold her tighter and longer.

🩶I wish I could go back to when I was 23 and tell myself that the harder I was trying to be the perfect mom the easier it would be to fuck it all up.

🩶I wish I could go back to when I was 28 before it got too late to take away her pain and my mistakes.

🩶I wish I could go back to when I was thirty and remind myself that i was more.

I wish I could go back to when she loved me and do it all over again. Be better for her, be there for her, be the mom she needed not this “perfect” person I was trying to be.

🩶I wish I could go back to when I was lost and find myself for her.

🤍 I wish I could do it all over again for her. I wish I could take the pain I’ve caused her away

🤍 I wish I could be the sunshine on her cloudy day

... Read moreMotherhood is a journey filled with joys and challenges that can shape our lives profoundly. Many young moms often find themselves reflecting on their experiences, wishing they could go back in time to impart wisdom to their younger selves. One key lesson is the importance of vulnerability; embracing imperfections allows for a deeper connection with your child. It's common to feel pressured to create a 'perfect' image as a mom, but acknowledging mistakes is crucial for personal growth and healing. As a young mom, it’s essential to understand that no one has it all figured out; it's okay to seek help and share experiences with other mothers who are on the same path. This journey teaches us the beauty of resilience and the strength of a mother's love. Building a support network is invaluable—connect with other moms, whether through social media or local groups, and share your stories and strategies for self-care and parenting. These bonds can remind us we’re not alone in our struggles. Additionally, consider the lessons that come from recognizing the emotions of both mother and child. Observing how your actions impact your child's emotional well-being can lead to transformative changes in your approach to parenting. Each moment, even the challenging ones, offers an opportunity for growth. It's vital to cherish the small victories and learn from the bumps in the road. Incorporating mindfulness practices into your daily routine can help you stay grounded and connected with your child, fostering a nurturing environment. Remember, as you navigate through the ups and downs of motherhood, there's beauty in growth and the realization that imperfection is part of the journey.
