5 Coping Skills for Depression

It’s been almost a week since my last post 😫 I definitely needed a mental break.

As someone who is high functioning - these are my top 5 tips for when you’re going through a depression state!

⚡️Request 2 days off from work- please listen to your self and stop going in and exhausting yourself more mentally and physically! Please take time to rest! Preferably durning the work week.. so you actually only work 3 days that week and if you choose to leave your bed or home it’ll be less crowded in the world since it’ll be a random work day.

⚡️Get rid of your kid(s)- okay, just hear me out 🫣 if your a SAHM if your funds allow it pay someone to watch your little ones for a few hours or consider doing a daycare drop in. You have to take time for yourself! Or if you can girl LEAVE them kids w/ their daddy!

⚡️Selfcare- get up and SHOWER! Okay that’s the first thing. SHOWER!! Brush your teeth, Put lotion on your body and put on CLEAN clothes!! Put on your favorite perfume and leave the house.

⚡️Eat a MEAL- please fuel your body with a complete and balanced meal. Yes a protein and sides can do wonders!

⚡️Drink water- please put the wine cup down and get your favorite tumbler and fill it with ice and water.

This is the order to maximize your day to start your healing process after or while your in a depression.

Request your time off from work. You need 2 days to get yourself together. Preferably during a work week so you can have a short work week when you return and when you go out it’ll be less crowded.

Secure a sitter if you’re a parent. If you have a village USE THEM! If not pay for one if you can afford it.

On your off day you’re going to shower(ALONE 🙌🏾), shave and be easy with yourself. You’re going to moisturize your body and put on clean clothes!

Go to a sit down restaurant and have a MEAL! And eat it while it’s HOT. You deserve that!

Drink some water! No, don’t order a glass of wine, you’re drinking WATER!
