Attending my First YouTube Event!
This week I’ll be attending my first YouTube event! Because of my location I never get to attend the TikTok, YT or scary movie premieres that I get invited to but FINALLY there’s an event in my city!
What do you guys wanna know?!

Wow, attending my first YouTube Creator Collective event was an absolute game-changer, and I'm so excited to share more about what these exclusive gatherings are all about! For so long, living far from major hubs meant I always missed out on incredible opportunities like the "YouTube Creator Collective: Meet-Up Where You Belong event" that finally came to Seattle. It truly felt like a special occasion to be part of something designed specifically for creators like us. So, what exactly is a YouTube Creator event, and how do you even get invited? From my experience, these events, like the "Creator Collective Meet-Up," are YouTube's way of fostering community, providing direct resources, and connecting creators with each other and with the platform's team. They're usually invite-only, often based on your channel's growth, engagement, and consistent content creation. It’s not just about subscriber count; it’s also about being an active and impactful member of the YouTube community. Getting that invitation in my inbox felt like a real validation of my journey, and seeing my name alongside other recognized creators like @BenjiManTV, @Andru, and @acooknamedMatt on the invite was incredibly motivating. At the "Meet-Up Where You Belong" event, the atmosphere was buzzing with shared passion. It was an incredible opportunity to network and connect with fellow creators in person. Instead of just seeing profile pictures, I got to chat face-to-face, exchange ideas, and even commiserate over shared creator challenges. These aren't just casual hangouts; they often include insightful sessions, workshops, and Q&A panels with YouTube representatives. We discussed best practices for channel growth, understanding algorithm updates, and new features to leverage. It’s invaluable to hear directly from YouTube about their vision and tips for success, rather than piecing together information from online forums. One of the biggest takeaways for me was the sense of community. Being a creator can sometimes feel isolating, especially if you're working solo. These events remind you that you're part of a larger ecosystem, surrounded by people who understand your unique challenges and triumphs. The "Where You Belong" theme really resonated, as it truly felt like finding my tribe. I left feeling inspired, re-energized, and with a notebook full of actionable ideas. Conversations ranged from content strategy and audience engagement to balancing creator life with personal well-being. If you ever get the chance to attend a YouTube Creator event, I highly recommend making the most of it! Here are a few tips I wish I'd known: Prepare your elevator pitch: Be ready to briefly explain your channel, content, and what you hope to achieve. Bring business cards or digital contact info: Networking is key! Have specific questions ready: If there are Q&A sessions with YouTube staff, make sure you have questions about monetization, growth, or specific platform features. Be open and approachable: Everyone there is looking to connect. Follow up: After the event, reach out to new connections on social media or email. These events are more than just meet-ups; they're growth accelerators and community builders. They offer a unique window into the future of the platform and invaluable direct feedback from YouTube itself. I'm already looking forward to my next one and can't wait to see how these new connections and insights impact my channel!
