Starting over…a divorce help guide 🥰🤍

#lemon8diarychallenge

Hey everyone! This is my very first lemon8 post so I want share a not so popular topic as it’s been 5 years since my very traumatic divorce and learning how to move on and regain myself.

1) Focus on YOU. I find that we as women naturally give, to others, friends, kids, etc. and put ourselves last. Pretend you are your child or your best friend that is asking you to take care of them and do the same for yourself. #extraselfcare

2) Exercise and connect with the Earth/Sun daily. Moving your body produces endorphins and reduces stress which there will be plenty of. Sunshine provides vitamin D and happiness 🤗. Do whichever activity you enjoy even if just for a few minutes. It’s life changing.

3) Take on a BIG goal. Seems counterintuitive right? But when you are down and sad (in my case feeling less than) accomplishments or even the process of small wins build us back stronger. And when you are on the other side you have a such an appreciation for what you were able to do! 💪🏾 #strength

4) Lean on your support system. They will understand you need support if they are your people. A divorce is painful and hurtful so reach out! #divorcediary

5) Realize it will take time to love again and move through. Usually healing takes half the time of the relationship so expect it and allow the feelings and memories to come up but don’t dwell on what was lost. #betteriscoming
