Spoilers for Hooked‼️

Twisted Games👑

I did end up liking it but I didn’t get invested until the last half of the book. 🤔Cons:The first chunk is the lead up to the end of Twisted Love and there wasn’t much plot, but the second half was really engaging.

Hooked 🤮

Literally kill me this book was so trash. I was so disappointed because the first piece where it’s setting everything up made it seem so interesting like there was potential there! And then she was like boom kidnapped boom I love you boom step sibling and I was like are you f-ing serious? Ugh please if you haven’t read it already don’t waste your time or money. If you are interested it’s free on Kindle Unlimited.

Twisted Love ☀️

I absolutely loved this book! I only give it 4/5 stars though because there were a few things I would tweak but overall a really good read! Not only was the spice worthy of drenching the driest of deserts lmao but the plot was good too. There were a few plot points that I didn’t see coming and they were really interesting to see. Tbh I would rate it more like a 4.5 out of 5 stars but I’m stingey lol.

... Read moreOkay, so we've all been there, right? Staring at our TBR pile, or endlessly scrolling through Goodreads, trying to figure out what to read next. It can be tough, especially when you're looking for something specific, like a really good spicy romance or a thrilling dark romance. After my recent dives into books like the Twisted series (hello, Twisted Love and Twisted Games by Ana Huang!) and Hooked, I've definitely picked up a few tips on how to navigate the book world, especially when you want to avoid those major disappointments! First off, book covers can be deceiving. While the covers for Twisted Games with its crown and pearls, or Twisted Love with its intense blue, definitely hint at romance, they don't tell the whole story. I've learned to always check reviews (like the one you just read!) and look for specific tags or tropes. Are you in the mood for a 'bodyguard x princess' dynamic like in Twisted Games? Or a 'brother's best friend' scenario from Twisted Love? Knowing what tropes you love (or hate!) can save you a lot of reading time. And let's talk about the 'spice' factor! For Twisted Love, the spice was definitely deserving of its reputation. If you're specifically craving that, always check content warnings and reader comments. Platforms like Lemon8 and BookTok are fantastic for getting a vibe check on a book's heat level. Not every book promises to drench the driest desert, so manage your expectations! Then there's the whole disappointment factor. Believe me, I was so ready for Hooked to be amazing, but it just didn't hit the mark for me. It happens! My advice? Don't be afraid to DNF (Did Not Finish) a book if it's not working. Your reading time is precious! Also, if a book is free on Kindle Unlimited, it's a great low-risk way to try something out, even if reviews are mixed. You can sample a chapter or two and decide if it's worth your time without feeling like you've wasted money. Another thing I've found incredibly helpful is engaging with the online book community. Whether it's on Lemon8, BookTok, or Goodreads, seeing what other readers are saying, their specific likes and dislikes, can really guide your next pick. Pay attention to reviewers who have similar tastes to yours – they're often your best bet for recommendations! Don't just look at the star rating; dive into the comments to understand why people loved or hated a book. Sometimes, what one person considers a 'con' might actually be a 'pro' for you, especially in genres like dark romance where triggers can be subjective. So, next time you're on the hunt for your next page-turner, remember these tips and happy reading!
