How mood stabilizers affected my weight

What most people don’t know about those who live with bipolar and other mood disorders is how drastic the side effects are. One of these is weight gain, in fact it’s really hard to find any mood stabilizers that won’t affect your weight. Now there are even more side effects I will not really be acknowledging in this specific post, but I’d like to focus on one that has personally affected me lately due to the summer. I personally was not even told this before being put on them. But it’s not really a choice we can make, we have to take these medications for our wellbeing and the safety of those around us as well. This has had a big toll on my self confidence and plenty of others with the same condition I’m sure. some people will just tell me I’m eating too much when in fact I was struggling to eat during this time of weight gain, especially considering I felt bad about what I was noticing. I’ve come to a certain point where I try my best to just not care even though others can be very unkind, but I hope other people learn from this post maybe and become a little more sensitive to those who are changing due to their medications and diagnoses. And to those struggling alongside me don’t forget how beautiful you are, and your weight fluctuating is ok and it doesn’t define you’re beauty regardless what anyone comments, I hope you all Have a beautiful day or night💕

... Read moreMood stabilizers play a crucial role in managing bipolar and other mood disorders, but they often come with significant side effects, including weight gain. Studies show that individuals on medications like lithium, valproate, and certain atypical antipsychotics frequently experience changes in appetite and metabolism, leading to weight fluctuations. Coping with this challenge requires not only medical management but also psychological support. It's essential for those affected to communicate openly with healthcare providers about side effects and explore options that minimize weight impact. Healthy lifestyle choices, such as a balanced diet and regular exercise, can also play a vital role in managing weight while on these medications. Moreover, individuals facing these struggles should find community support. Online forums, support groups, and therapy can offer valuable advice and shared experiences, fostering a sense of belonging and understanding. Remember, you are not alone in your journey.

Most people think front squats are just for legs..
They activate your entire lower body and core! While going down, your quads do about 60% of the work, with your glutes and spine stabilizers taking over for control. And when you push back up, your glutes (45%) fire hard to drive you upward, while your quads (40%) and core (15%) keep you
