What is it like to be treated kindly?
In a relationship.
What is it like to be with someone who really loves and respects you?
To have someone who, even when they are angry, treat you with love and affection?
Who wants to be loved by you?
Because lately it seems as though it is everywhere but with me.
12 years with the same person.
We’ve gotten better.
He’s gotten better.
But still, he’s the same mean guy.
Any time he’s upset with me, he makes sure I know it.
His words cut deep and I try not to show it.
I brush it off best I can.
I day dream of a better, more romantic relationship.
Where I am cared for, instead of treated this way.
I’m trapped.
I somehow helped him build the cage I’m in.
Not sure how to get out all the way.
I just want to experience the kind of love people talk about.
The kind of love that makes you glow.
That makes you truly happy.
Because lord knows I am not.
And it’s showing.
I just….I just want to know what it is like to truly be loved.
Because what I have, isn’t it.
