Book Review Below.. šŸ„¹šŸ¤Ž

This book got me in all the right places. I’ve been on Ashley Antionette’s books real bad since Moth to a Flame and I feel like this was something different from her. It was not what I was expecting but it was what I needed. I could somewhat relate to all the girls situations.. I saw a little of myself in all of them, especially Sloan. More importantly, love conquered all. I feel like not a lot of books touch on the love you share with your girls. It was so good to see black women in every space from motherhood to the workforce. I am definitely a girls girl and this book gave that. Sisterhood through every stage of life.. It gave modern day Waiting To Exhale vibes! also book bae is Loyal for sure because he ALWAYS stood on big business and knew what he wanted IMMEDIATELY. #asharmy #blackgirlbooks #browngirlswhoread #beforethestreetlightscomeon #ashleyantionettebooos

1/26 Edited to

... Read moreReading 'Before the Street Lights Come On' felt like reconnecting with old friends who truly understand the ups and downs of life. What resonated with me most was how the book captured the essence of black sisterhood—not just the fun times but also the raw, unfiltered support through challenges like motherhood, career struggles, and personal growth. Sloan’s journey, in particular, mirrored real-life experiences of finding oneself amid chaos. One aspect that deeply touched me was the portrayal of love extending beyond romance. The love shared among the women was just as powerful, reflecting true friendship and unwavering loyalty. It reminded me of my own circle where we rally around each other through thick and thin. The character of Loyal stood out as a refreshing example of what it means to be a supportive partner who knows his worth and supports big dreams without hesitation. His confidence and respect for business ambitions added an inspiring layer to the story. Like many, I grew up watching 'Waiting to Exhale,' and this book brought that same energy into today’s world, showing women supporting each other in every phase of life. It’s rare to find contemporary books that celebrate black women in so many roles with honesty and heart. If you’re searching for a book that offers more than just romance but delivers a deep dive into friendship, love, and perseverance among black women, I highly recommend diving into this one. It’s not only entertaining but a reminder of the power found in genuine relationships and self-discovery.
