recognizing my super powers

I’ve always felt like I thought outside the box and didn’t quite fit into what society sees as the “social norm.” For a long time, I struggled with embracing that. I felt silenced in so many ways, like my voice and passions didn’t matter. But now, I’m learning to see my differences as my strengths—and I’m finally using my voice to share my story and inspire others.

Through my podcast and content, I’m leaning into who I truly am. I love diving deep into books and writing detailed reviews, watching documentaries that teach me something new, solving word finds, and getting way too invested in game shows. HGTV inspires my creativity, and writing gives me a way to express my thoughts. Learning is my happy place—it’s how I stay connected to myself and the world.

For years, I thought being passionate about these things made me “weird.” Now, I’m realizing it makes me me. Being different isn’t something to hide—it’s something to celebrate.

If you’ve ever felt like you didn’t fit into the box society tries to put you in, I want you to know this: There’s power in being authentically yourself. After feeling silenced for so long, I’m finally embracing the beauty of my voice and the things that make me unique.

Let this be a reminder—stop shrinking yourself to fit in. Start owning everything that makes you shine. There’s so much freedom in being your true self, and the world is waiting for you.

... Read moreHey everyone! Following up on my journey of embracing what makes me unique, I wanted to share a bit more about how I actually started identifying these 'superpowers' within myself, and how you can too. It's one thing to say 'celebrate your differences,' but it’s another to know what those differences truly are and how to wield them effectively. I used to think my 'superpowers' had to be grand, like being a master orator or a brilliant scientist. But I’ve realized they are often the quiet, consistent things that bring me joy and energy and differentiate my perspective. For me, it's that deep dive into books, the thrill of learning from documentaries, or even the calm focus of a word puzzle. These aren't just hobbies; they are pathways to my unique way of processing information, connecting ideas, and feeling fulfilled in ways that truly resonate with my spirit. So, how do you uncover your unique superpowers? Start by looking at what you love to do, even if it feels 'silly' or not conventionally impressive. What activities make you lose track of time? What challenges do you naturally gravitate towards, or solve in a way others don't? These are often clues. Think about comments people have made about you – 'You're so good at listening,' or 'I love how you always find a creative solution.' Sometimes, our greatest strengths are invisible to us because they come so naturally, we don't recognize them as special. Another powerful way is to reflect on your past struggles and the lessons learned. What did you overcome? What unique perspectives did those experiences give you? Perhaps your superpower is resilience, empathy, or an unconventional problem-solving approach born from navigating difficult situations. Just like that inspiring image of a superhero-like woman with a glowing open book, symbolizing the power of knowledge and wisdom gained, I believe our personal stories and the insights we've gathered are incredible sources of hidden power waiting to be unleashed. Once you identify these strengths, the next step is to truly embrace them. This means acknowledging them, valuing them, and dropping the fear of judgment. For so long, I feared being seen as 'weird' for my intense passions and my deep need to learn. But now, I see that this very intensity, this deep capacity for connecting with information and ideas, is a significant part of my strength. It’s what allows me to connect with others on a deeper level and to create content that I truly believe in, sharing my authentic self. Think of it like putting on your own metaphorical metallic suit with blue and pink accents and a blue cape – it’s about owning your identity and proudly displaying your true colors. Don't shrink your passions or unique opinions to fit someone else’s mold. Let your distinct perspective shine, whether it’s in your conversations, your work, your creative outlets, or simply how you navigate the world. The world desperately needs people who are brave enough to stand in their authentic power, much like that superhero standing confidently against a city skyline. When you fully embrace your unique strengths, you're not just empowering yourself; you're sending a powerful message that inspires others to find and celebrate their own remarkable qualities too. It’s a liberating feeling to finally say, 'This is me, and I’m proud of all of it!'
