Death is hard 💔

2024/2/8 Edited to

... Read moreThe moment you hear those words, a part of you just… shatters. Today, I’m grappling with the incredibly difficult reality that death is so permanent. It’s not just an abstract concept anymore; it’s a gaping hole in my life where my dad used to be, a silence that screams his absence. There’s no undoing it, no turning back time, and that finality is perhaps the heaviest part of grief. In these early moments, the pain feels all-consuming. It’s a physical ache, a tightness in my chest that makes it hard to breathe. I find myself replaying memories, trying to hold onto every detail, every laugh, every piece of advice he ever gave me. It’s during these reflections that the power of love truly shines through. Even though his physical presence is gone, the love we shared, the bonds we forged, remain. It's a comforting thought, a warmth in the cold reality of loss, reminding me that some things truly are permanent, like the impact he had on my life. Grief is such a complex process, an unpredictable wave crashing over you when you least expect it. I’m learning that it’s not just about sadness; it’s about anger, confusion, and sometimes, even guilt. Learning to forgive – whether it’s myself, the situation, or even him for leaving – feels like an essential, albeit difficult, step towards finding peace. It's not about forgetting; it's about acknowledging the pain and gently moving through it, allowing myself to feel everything without judgment. There are moments, even now, when a memory brings a flicker of a smile, a brief, unexpected moment of laughter. It feels strange, almost wrong, to laugh when my heart is so heavy. But I’m starting to understand that these moments are vital. They’re a testament to the joy he brought into my life, a reminder that life continues, and finding small pockets of happiness doesn’t diminish my love or my grief. It’s simply part of navigating this new, altered landscape. This journey of grieving is just beginning, and the permanence of death is a lesson I’m learning moment by moment. It's raw, it's messy, but I'm holding onto the hope that, eventually, peace will settle. The path forward is uncertain, but I’m striving to carry his love with me, honoring his memory as I figure out how to live in a world where he is no longer physically present, but forever in my heart.

Mother wounds are hard to talk about! 🌸🍋✨
The mother wound is simultaneously the most common thing I see in my work and the least commonly talked about. Because how do you grieve someone who is still alive? How do you name a pain that doesn’t always have an obvious story attached to it? How do you explain that your mom “wasn’t that bad

The hard transition
