Nobody teaches you how to stay connected to yourse
For a long time, I thought love was something you had to earn.
Through sacrifice.
Through performance.
Through proving your value to other people.
And I think a lot of people are still living that way without even realizing it.
They’ve learned how to stay connected to others…
but they’ve never learned how to stay connected to themselves.
For a long time, many of us grow up believing that love and acceptance come only through proving our worth to others. This belief often leads us to prioritize external validation over our own inner connection. From my own experience, I realized that true love starts within — it’s about honoring my feelings, needs, and presence without constantly sacrificing or performing for others. Learning to stay connected to yourself means developing a deep awareness of your body, mind, and emotions. Practices like embodiment — where you tune into how your body feels and responds — can be transformative. Simple actions such as mindful breathing, gentle movement, and checking in with your emotions helped me cultivate an authentic bond with myself. It’s important to recognize that while we may be adept at maintaining relationships with others, many of us neglect the relationship we have with ourselves. This neglect can cause feelings of emptiness, disconnection, and difficulty in setting healthy boundaries. Through my self-love journey, I found that embracing imperfections and allowing myself to just be, without needing to earn love or approval, created a new foundation of peace and confidence. If you’re seeking to reconnect with yourself, try starting with small daily rituals that nurture your body and mind. Over time, this self-connection will naturally ripple into healthier relationships with others. Remember, it's not about sacrifice or proving value; it’s about presence and acceptance. You deserve to love yourself fully, just as you are.
