I survived two under two🥺💕

Fight or flight—those were my choices during the first year with my twins. I missed out on so much joy because I was just surviving: the next nap, the next feed, the next meltdown. I wasn’t fully there in the moment.

But now, as a more confident mom, I’d give anything for a do-over—to relive those newborn days as the mom I’ve become. Don’t get me wrong, my twins brought so much happiness, but I was too overwhelmed to soak it in.

If you’re in the thick of it right now, know this: it gets better. You will find your rhythm. Looking back, I realize every chaotic moment was part of the journey to becoming the mom I am today.

I relate. It was the same with my firsts. Also within that time, I found a lady’s post where she said when you have a newborn, you also are a newborn. In my case, I would say I was a newborn twice at once. Anyways, each time you have a newborn, there’s a lot to learn and catch up with in real time.
