Traveling = my best reading habit

2/16 Edited to

... Read moreTraveling has always been my personal catalyst for diving deep into my reading list, especially when I visit inspiring destinations like Montreal. The change of scenery, the slow pace of exploring a new city, and the quiet moments during transit all come together to create an ideal atmosphere for uninterrupted reading sessions. One of my favorite reads during my trips has been 'The Giver' by Lois Lowry, a thought-provoking middle grade novel that offers a unique glimpse into a meticulously controlled society. Reading it while traveling, especially on long flights or peaceful Uber rides through the bustling streets of Montreal, enhances the experience by allowing me to reflect deeply without daily distractions. Montreal itself is a literary haven for me. Its charming neighborhoods and vibrant culture offer not just visual beauty but inspire my imagination, making every page I turn feel even more meaningful. I find myself linking stories I read to the unique streets, people, and stories I encounter in the city. Plus, places like cozy cafes and tranquil parks provide perfect reading nooks that combine relaxation with the thrill of discovery. Another valuable aspect of reading while traveling is how it transforms waiting times—whether at airport security or boarding gates—into productive and enjoyable periods. Instead of feeling frustrated by delays, I immerse myself in chapters and make progress on books that might otherwise gather dust at home. For fellow travel and book lovers, I highly recommend embracing the synergy between your journeys and your reading goals. Select books that resonate with your travel mood, bring a comfortable e-reader or paperbacks, and let the rhythm of your travels guide your reading flow. You'll find yourself not only enriched by the places you visit but also by the new worlds you explore through stories. Ultimately, traveling becomes more than just a physical escape; it becomes a journey through literature that broadens horizons, deepens understanding, and creates lasting memories tied to both place and prose.
