DON'T GO 72奇楼 @ ZHANGJIAJIE
Everyone shows and tell you the nice side of this place in Zhangjiajie 张家界 but I will tell you why you shouldn't go and also if you want to go, what are the things to look out for.
⚠️ Why don't go
1. Is very expensive just to go in to see a lighted building. You cannot even go inside the building!
2. The restaurants are expensive and ridiculously not nice!
3. The attractions inside is like old and dirty, looks like they don't really care to maintain it
4. If you think you like to go in and take photo of the surrounding, is very small area. It is not like a 古镇 Old Village where is big and many areas to take photo.
5. See my last photo, just go down the underpass (near the main entrance), go to opposite the place and take a photo at night, it is as good as you are inside.
🔥 If you really want to go
1. The ticket is cheaper before 3pm but I don't advise you to do go so early. I can finish walkinf thru the place in 30mins.
2. Best time to go is about 6pm and have dinner at the restaurants outside before you go in. Don't eat inside. The Chinese restaurant that is nearest to the main door, sells very nice Wawa Fish 娃娃鱼 (A fish that grow in Zhangjiajie)
3. The show is at 730pm and is only 10mins, kinda waste of time. so go inside at the last minute as that place is really small.
4. Many things inside is not included in the entry fee. Like visiting one of the hall inside have to pay. To play any games inside, have to pay. Kinda stupid I feel cause the entry fee doesn’t justify the cost of going in at all!
5. There is a 茶颜月色 Bubble Tea Shop just outside this place so do remember to visit before you go.
If you're considering a visit to the 72 Wonder Tower in Zhangjiajie, I’d suggest preparing for a modest experience. Although marketed as an impressive lighted building, you actually can’t enter it. The entire area is small—much smaller than a traditional old village—and there really isn’t much to explore beyond the main spectacle. One helpful tip is that the location near the underpass opposite the main entrance offers great night photo opportunities without paying the high entry fee. This spot captures the illuminated beauty of the tower just as well as inside. For dining, avoid eating inside the complex as the restaurants there are overpriced and underwhelming in taste. Instead, try the nearby Chinese restaurant outside the entrance—they serve delicious Wawa Fish, a local specialty from Zhangjiajie. If you want to catch the night show, know that it only lasts about 10 minutes at 7:30 PM. It's better to arrive just before the show begins, as wandering through the attraction can be done in roughly 30 minutes—longer visits aren’t warranted. Be aware that many activities and some halls inside require extra payment on top of the ticket price. This makes the overall experience feel less worthwhile. Before leaving, stop by the 茶颜月色 (Bubble Tea Shop) just outside for a refreshing drink to round off your visit. Although the 72 Wonder Tower may not meet expectations, these small experiences can still add to your Zhangjiajie adventure.
