Phase 3 for Shiny Xerneas
Wow, it feels surreal to finally be on Phase 3 of my Shiny Xerneas hunt in Pokémon Sword and Shield! This legendary deer has been quite evasive, but the thrill of potentially finding that beautiful blue and black version keeps me going. If you're also chasing this majestic Shiny Pokémon, let me share some of my experiences and tips that might just help you out. My primary method for hunting Shiny Xerneas has been through Dynamax Adventures in the Crown Tundra. It’s a grind, but totally worth it for a legendary like Xerneas. The key is to keep resetting your path until Xerneas appears as the final boss. Remember, all Pokémon caught in Dynamax Adventures have a chance to be shiny, and you only find out after the adventure is complete. It adds a layer of suspense that makes every run exciting! Understanding Xerneas's forms is also crucial. You'll often encounter it in its 'Dormant Form,' which resembles a tree with antlers. This 'tree form' is its natural state when not in battle. When engaged in combat, especially during a raid, its antlers start 'glowing' with vibrant colors, signifying its active 'Life Aura' form. There’s no difference in shiny odds between these forms, but it's cool to see the transformation! Now, for those challenging Xerneas raids, having the right counters is paramount. As a pure Fairy-type, Xerneas is weak to Poison and Steel-type moves. Based on my numerous runs, some of the best counters I’ve found include: Gengar: With its Poison STAB moves, Gengar can deal significant damage. Make sure it's well-trained! Eternatus: Another fantastic Poison-type attacker, often available to players and very powerful. Necrozma (Dusk Mane): If you have it, its Steel-type attacks are super effective. Metagross: A solid Steel-type choice with good bulk and attack. Focus on Pokémon with strong Poison Jab, Sludge Bomb, Flash Cannon, or Iron Head. Team composition is vital in Dynamax Adventures, so try to coordinate with your teammates if playing online. Even if you don't get the shiny on a particular run, gathering Dynite Ore is always a plus for future attempts. It’s been a journey of highs and lows. Just recently, while taking a break from Xerneas, I actually managed to catch a shiny green Cubone! It was completely unexpected and a great morale boost. Sometimes, the universe throws you a different shiny when you least expect it, making the overall shiny hunting experience even more rewarding. Keep at it, fellow trainers, and may your shiny luck be abundant!
