Everybody in this book needed help… not a relation
Y’alllll I read this book during my fall break last year… and tell me WHY I just found out there’s a part 2 😭📚
Because baby… the way this story had me hooked??
I already know I’m about to be right back in it 😮💨
This book is messy in the BEST way
love, temptation, grief, and decisions that will have you side-eyeing EVERYBODY 👀
You got Roddy trying to rebuild his life after losing his wife…
and Jia living her best life but barely wanting to take care of the baby she just had 😮💨
But let’s talk about YVES 👀
She been through something REAL traumatic… like life-changing.
Lost her child, dealing with a no-good family, and a crazy ex-husband on top of that??
yeah… she really just trying to survive at this point 😭
Then out of nowhere, she steps into a whole new life…
but baby the situation she walking into??
Yeah… she should’ve stayed FAR away 😮💨
And when those lines start getting crossed??
Yeah… it gets messy REAL fast.
Because everybody got baggage…
and nobody making good decisions 😭
Spicy Level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ (4/5)
It’s giving tension AND heat 🔥
Now I need to know…

Reading this book truly felt like peeling back the layers of human resilience and vulnerability. The characters aren't just fictional—they're real in their struggles and imperfections. Yves' story particularly resonated with me because it shines light on how trauma can transform someone's life in ways that ripple through every relationship and decision. What stood out most was how the author, Jahquel J., doesn’t shy away from illustrating the rawness of emotions that accompany loss and hardship. The mention of 'Confessions of a Hustla's Housekeeper' in the book's title hints at the gritty realism underpinning the story's backdrop, where survival and identity are constantly tested. The tangled relationships between Roddy, Jia, and Yves make the plot unpredictably compelling. It highlights how people often seek help but not necessarily from those closest to them—a reflection on trust and betrayal that many can relate to. I also appreciated the balance of tension and spice indicated by the four-chili rating—it's a reminder that stories dealing with heavy themes can still engage through lively and relatable dialogue and moments of levity. Overall, this book invites readers to reflect on how we all carry baggage and how messy life’s decisions can get when stakes are high. It’s an emotional ride that perfectly blends family drama with personal growth, making it a must-read for anyone who loves deep, character-driven stories.
