Overall I really liked the concept of this book, I’m just a bit let down by the execution. Let me explain…
When I started this book, I was excited to dive into it and get a good who-dunnit mystery led romance done in a good-ole South Asian fashion. I did love the constant homage to our beautiful desi culture & all the hidden struggles that come with it. The reason I gave it a lower rating is because the pace of the plot was just toooo slowwww! I love how they set up some of the plot twists, however, ALL the twists came in the very end couple chapters. It just took way too much time to get me hooked and barely at that. The only reasons I finished the book is because I really like to support South Asian Authors & I hate to DNF a book.
Maybe if you’re a faster reader than I am- you will like this book but for all those reasons I have to give it 3/5 stars. To be fair I bumped it .5 more stars because the final plot reveal was worth the sleuthing I was doing, however I don’t feel like the author tied up all the strings at the end.

The capacity for plot twists to surprise and delight at the story’s climax is commendable, yet an evenly paced narrative could significantly enhance the reader’s experience. Additionally, the representation of South Asian authors in the literary marketplace is vital, as it enriches the diversity of voices and perspectives available to readers. Recommendations for readers include considering a balance between cultural storytelling and the anticipation of mystery, ensuring both elements coexist harmoniously for maximum engagement.
