No Buy Goals

✈️ I want to save money for travel. I already have a budget I stick to majority of the time. But I want to see how my impulse buys affect my budget and how much of that can be saved for experiences that will last forever versus items that I'll forget about within a few weeks.

🚗 I want to buy a new car by the end of the summer. I know what I want my monthly payments to be so I need to have a healthy down payment. My goal is stop put down 10-15K.

🏦 I don't want to work forever and I want to enjoy my retirement. Sacrificing a little bit now will boost my future finances

... Read moreEmbarking on a no buy journey can significantly transform your financial well-being. By focusing on experiences over items, you foster a mindset that prioritizes long-term satisfaction. The first step involves setting clear and achievable financial goals. For instance, if your aim is to travel, determine a budget that accommodates travel expenses while allowing for daily living costs. Monitor your spending habits carefully to identify impulse purchases that detract from your goals. Track each expense to understand where your money goes, and reassess your priorities accordingly. In addition, planning large purchases, like a new car, can also benefit from this approach. Set aside designated savings for this purpose, aiming for a substantial down payment that reduces future financial strain. This will enable you to enjoy your vehicle without the stress of overwhelming debt. Retirement savings often take a backseat in day-to-day finances, yet they play a pivotal role in maintaining your quality of life later on. Consider setting a monthly contribution to a retirement fund, even if it's a small amount. Over time, these contributions can compound significantly, ensuring that you enjoy a comfortable retirement. Embracing a no buy mindset promotes sustainable financial habits that align with your personal values and goals.

Yogurts: BYE or BUY
Sugar-loaded yogurts like Yoplait are packed with added sugars, artificial flavors, and preservatives, making them more like desserts than healthy snacks. They can spike your blood sugar and leave you craving more. On the other hand, grass-fed or nonfat plain yogurts are higher-quality options.
