How many years should the shock change?
Car shocks should be replaced when they reach a reasonable distance or at the onset of deterioration. Typically:
⏳ Lifetime of shock absorbers
• About 3 years; or
• Distance 50,000 - 100,000 Kilometres2
But depending on the nature of the use, for example:
• 🚧 Drive on rough roads often
• 🚚 regularly carry heavy loads
• 🏎️ Drive at high speed or cornering hard.
• 🌧️ Drive through water or rain often
🔍 A warning sign that the shock may deteriorate.
• Hydraulic oil leaking from the shock
• A noise while driving
• The car is bent or bounced erratically.
• Increased braking distance
• Curve and control the car more difficult
For safety and good performance of the car, the shock absorber should be checked every 20,000 miles [20,000 km] and replaced immediately when there is a malfunction, not always waiting for the full range.
