Seriously, finding Hamaru Ramen and Handroll in Killen was a game-changer for our family dinners! If you're anything like me, you love seeing exactly what you're getting into, especially when it comes to delicious food. Let me give you a closer look at what made our visit so memorable, almost like taking you through our photo album! First off, the ramen bowls are seriously photogenic and taste even better. My Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen arrived with a rich, cloudy broth, perfectly sliced pork, a vibrant soft-boiled egg, and a colorful mix of corn, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, and wood ear mushrooms. And yes, that little narutomaki fish cake added the cutest touch! Hubbyās Spicy Garlic Miso Ramen was equally impressive, with that deep miso flavor, tender pork, and those amazing crispy fried garlic slices that really popped against the green onions. Each bowl was a masterpiece, truly. The kids were in heaven with their choices. My little oneās Karage Bowl was piled high with golden-fried chicken pieces, drizzled with a delicious white sauce and a darker savory sauce, all garnished with fresh chopped green onions. It looked as good as it tasted ā crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. The other one opted for the classic Tonkatsu, a perfectly breaded and fried pork cutlet that was a huge hit. Itās so great when everyone finds something they love! And we couldn't resist the appetizers! The Furikake Fries were an absolute revelation ā perfectly crisp with that addictive green seasoning, served with a creamy dipping sauce. Believe me, they're a must-try! And the spicy tuna sushi rolls were beautifully arranged on a dark rectangular plate, with just the right amount of kick and fresh flavor. They really complemented the heartier dishes. To wash it all down, I indulged in a comforting hot Matcha Latte with its frothy green surface ā such a calming experience. Hubby enjoyed his Sapporo Beer, and for the kids, those chocolate milkshakes were the perfect sweet ending. My personal favorite, though, was the clear glass filled with taro milk tea with ice and a black straw. It was so refreshing and visually appealing with its signature purple hue. Beyond the food, the vibe at Hamaru is fantastic. The interior view of the Japanese restaurant is so inviting, with a long counter and bar stools perfect for solo diners or couples, and lovely framed Japanese art and plants creating a cozy atmosphere. We even spotted a laminated menu displaying various Japanese dishes, including appetizers, izakaya items, yakitori, oden, tteokbokki, and sashimi combos, which made us eager to plan our next visit to try more! If youāre looking for a spot that offers amazing food and a great ambiance in Killen, Hamaru Ramen and Handroll is definitely it. You won't be disappointed!
