ADHD Friendly Planner?

This is the first planner that has ever worked out for me!

I struggled so hard to keep up with a planner especially on busy weeks!

for some reason the blank pages help ease my mind for the week it helps the weeks feel new and fresh, so I really love this planner!

I know the Hobonichi Planner is super popular and that actually was what I originally wanted, however, it was soo hard to find that I ended up settling for this that I found and honestly it was meant to be! The best planner I've ever used! It was also WAYY cheaper but ofc if you can afford Hobonichi there is no shame in that! 🤍

Planner: Midori One Line a Day 2025

... Read moreFinding the perfect planner when you have ADHD can feel like a never-ending quest, right? For me, it wasn't just about functionality; I desperately wanted something that felt good to look at, something that inspired me to open it daily. That's where the 'aesthetic' side of an ADHD planner truly comes into play, and it's something I've learned is incredibly important for staying engaged! My Midori One Line a Day planner, which I initially settled for, turned out to be a blessing in disguise because its simplicity is its strength. The blank pages, as I mentioned, are a game-changer. For an ADHD brain, a super busy, pre-designed layout can be instantly overwhelming. The 'Less is more!' philosophy of a minimalist planner means fewer distractions and more mental space. This isn't just about functionality; it creates a calming, aesthetic backdrop where your thoughts and creativity can shine without fighting a cluttered design. But how do you make a minimalist planner like the Midori aesthetically pleasing and still super functional for ADHD? Here are some of my favorite tips I've discovered: Embrace the 'You fill it out yourself!' freedom: This is key! Instead of rigidly following pre-set boxes, you get to design your own system. For me, this means using a simple color-coding system (blue for tasks, green for appointments, pink for self-care) that's visually appealing but also immediately tells my brain what needs attention. Pastel highlighters are my current aesthetic obsession! Stickers are your best friend: Seriously, don't underestimate the power of a cute sticker! Decorating my planner, as shown in my photos, makes it feel less like a chore and more like a creative outlet. A fun cat sticker sipping bubble tea, or a little motivational quote, breaks up the monotony and adds personality. It's a small act of self-care that keeps me coming back. Utilize the 'spot for extra notes' wisely: My Midori has these, and they are perfect for brain dumps or 'run club' lists without cluttering the main weekly view. I love using decorative washi tape to section off these areas, making them visually distinct but still part of the overall cohesive aesthetic. It looks neat and helps my brain categorize information. Handwriting matters (to you!): Don't worry about perfect penmanship. The aesthetic comes from your unique style. I found that investing in a few nice pens I enjoy using makes the act of writing more pleasant. Different colored pens for different categories can also add to the visual appeal and help information pop out. Keep it visually fresh: Because the Midori design is so simple, I can change up my decorating style seasonally or whenever I feel like it. This keeps the planner feeling 'new and fresh,' which is incredibly motivating for my ADHD brain. It prevents planner burnout and keeps the aesthetic engaging. Ultimately, an ADHD-friendly planner aesthetic isn't about following trends; it's about creating a visual environment that supports your focus and makes planning a delightful, rather than daunting, part of your routine. It's about finding beauty in simplicity and then adding your personal touch to make it truly yours. Give it a try – you might just find your perfect aesthetic, too!
