Read moreAs a computer science student navigating the demanding routine of studying, attending classes, and commuting, I’ve learned that it’s the small moments of joy and reflection that really keep me grounded. Between coding assignments and lectures, commuting times can feel long and exhausting, but I’ve started to use this time as a chance to listen to podcasts or mentally review concepts, turning what feels like wasted time into productive or relaxing moments. Romanticizing the little things—like appreciating a good coffee during a morning rush or the quiet calm in a library corner—has surprisingly helped me maintain a positive mindset through hectic days. The life of every comp-sci student right now is packed with deadlines and intense focus, but carving out mental space to cherish these simple experiences adds a layer of balance. Embracing this perspective has also encouraged me to be more mindful and present, which improves my ability to concentrate during classes and productive study sessions. It’s important to acknowledge that this balancing act isn’t easy, but by reframing the daily grind as a collection of valuable experiences, student life becomes more fulfilling. If you’re juggling similar responsibilities, I recommend finding your own little rituals or moments that bring joy and peace, making the student journey not just about survival but personal growth.
