Just a mama trying to get her pink back!

Just a mom out here trying to get her pink back—and I finally started yoga! 🙌 I’ve been aiming for those peaceful early mornings, but let’s be real... the kids always win. So today, at 9 AM, inspired by my cute workout gear, I said, ‘Let’s do this!’

Not sure I recommend yoga with sore ribs or a toddler climbing on you every three seconds, but hey, i did it. And sometimes, that’s all that matters. 💪✨

... Read moreAfter diving into my first yoga session with a toddler as my impromptu climbing partner, it truly highlighted the reality for many of us moms: just trying to get our 'pink back'! That feeling of energy, strength, and confidence often takes a backseat in the beautiful, albeit chaotic, journey of motherhood. It's a continuous process, especially when our little ones are constantly on the move, perfecting their 'baby standing exercise' routines or just exploring everything with boundless energy. So, how do we fit in self-care and fitness when our mini-me's are so active? It really comes down to embracing imperfect progress and getting creative. I've found that sometimes, my 'workout' is simply chasing my toddler around the park, or turning our playtime into a fun movement session. If your baby is practicing standing or cruising, you can join them on the floor! Try doing squats, lunges, or even plank holds nearby, making eye contact and cheering them on. Or, put on some lively music and let them dance while you do a quick set of crunches or stretches. It might not be a serene yoga studio session, but every minute of movement counts! Another significant part of many postpartum journeys involves breastfeeding, and finding ways to care for ourselves physically during this time is incredibly important for getting our 'pink back'. While I can't speak to specific products like 'Lilly blooms breastfeeding', I can share general insights that have helped me and many other moms. Gentle exercise, like the yoga I’m attempting, can be immensely beneficial. It helps improve posture, easing the common tension in the neck, shoulders, and back that often comes from nursing and holding a baby. Simple stretches for the chest and upper back can be a genuine lifesaver! Hydration is absolutely crucial, especially when you're nursing and trying to stay active. I try to keep a water bottle with me at all times. Also, remember to listen to your body; your energy levels might fluctuate, and that's perfectly normal. Some days, a short walk or a few minutes of mindful breathing is all you can manage, and that is more than okay. The goal isn't perfection or intensity, but consistency and self-compassion. Timing your workouts right after a feed can also help minimize discomfort. Ensure you're wearing a supportive sports bra and fueling your body with nutrient-dense foods to keep your energy up. Incorporating your baby into your exercise can also be a wonderful bonding experience. Think about babywearing walks, or even doing floor exercises while your little one enjoys tummy time or practices their own motor skills. My toddler loved watching me stretch, and sometimes even tried to mimic me, which was adorable! Ultimately, getting your 'pink back' is about nurturing yourself in every way possible – physically, mentally, and emotionally. Whether it’s finding five minutes for yoga while your baby practices their standing skills, or ensuring you're taking care of your body while breastfeeding, every small step makes a monumental difference. Let's celebrate these small victories together in our amazing, messy, and motivated mom lives!
