One of the most common questions is about the microblading ghosting phase. After your initial appointment, your brows will look quite dark and defined. Don't panic! This is totally normal. Around day 4-7, you'll likely start experiencing peeling, just like I did. This is where your skin is shedding the superficial pigment. It can look a bit patchy, and you might even think the color is disappearing – this is the ‘ghosting’ phase. The color can appear much lighter than you anticipated. It’s important to remember that the true color will ‘bloom’ and resurface over the next few weeks as your skin fully heals. Patience is key! I kept my brows moisturized with the aftercare balm my artist gave me, and I avoided picking at the flakes to ensure the best retention. Speaking of the artist, a huge part of my success was the meticulous drawing eyebrow mapping process. Before any pigment was applied, my artist spent a good hour measuring my face, discussing my desired shape, and drawing out the perfect brow. This isn't just a random sketch; it’s a precise art that takes into account your bone structure, eye shape, and natural brow growth. We tried a few variations until I was 100% happy. While I went for microblading because I wanted those crisp, hair-like strokes, powder brows offer a softer, filled-in look, similar to how your brows look when you use powder makeup. Some artists even combine the two in a 'combo brow' for a blend of defined strokes and soft shading. It really depends on your desired outcome and skin type.
