My baby made it!!!

New to Lemon8! Here’s my first story for y’all!

I just had my baby a month ago! She was born early at 28 weeks and she only weighed 1lb 7oz. She is currently and will be in the NICU for a while 😞. This month has been an emotional roller coaster of ups and downs for our baby girl. I’m so proud of her for her fight to be here though! She’s doing great and made it to the 2lb mark this morning! Anyways, I just wanted to say hi and nice to meet y’all!

Babies born before 28 weeks, like yours, face significant challenges but also have remarkable stories of resilience. Many NICU families find strength in community support, sharing experiences that foster a sense of belonging. Learning about the medical care your baby receives is crucial; ask questions about treatments and interventions the NICU staff provides. Connecting with other NICU parents through social media and local support groups can offer both emotional comfort and practical advice on handling the unique experiences of a NICU stay. Consider documenting your feelings and milestones; journaling serves as both therapeutic and a permanent record of your journey. It's also important to celebrate each milestone, no matter how small. Your daughter making it to 2lbs is an incredible achievement! As she grows, be sure to stay in touch with healthcare professionals and stay informed about the resources available to aid your family through this time. Remember, you are not alone on this journey, and your story, too, can inspire hope in others facing similar challenges.

Our Micheal was 2lbs 14ozs. Lost down to 2 then took off. Was over a year old before he started talking. He's now 6ft 200 lbs, played football in HS and we regret we taught him to talk (jk). Congratulations the journey goes way to fast, and about the time you get this parenting thing down, they'll go out on their own.
