At first I was kind of scared because your basically ripping your hair off, so I started with getting my underarm done (the strip in the picture). It wasn’t bad but of course it was my first time and I had little bit of hair left after my esthetician trimmed it. Then I eased my way into getting a Brazilian wax which was painful asf😭 I was very long and thick, and she did trim me but that area is very sensitive area so I did bleed and it did take longer than expected to get wax. Fast forward this is my 3rd appointment and it get easier every appointment. I find that getting wax every 5 weeks is easier for my pain level and getting all the hair off.

Tips:

•Exfoliate after 48 hours

•No hot showers, sexual intercourse, and no exercising

•No touching the area or picking the area

• MOISTURIZE MOISTURIZE❗️❗️❗️

• Wipe the 🌸 when urinating

• Spread both cheeks as you no longer have hair on your 🌸 to direct the urine to the toilet

... Read moreOkay, so you've heard my initial waxing tales, but let's dive deeper into what I wish I knew before my first appointment and what I've learned since, especially regarding that Brazilian! First off, preparation is everything. Seriously, it makes a huge difference. Before your wax, make sure your hair is the right length – usually about a quarter-inch, like a grain of rice. If it's too short, the wax won't grab it, and if it's too long (like my first Brazilian experience!), it can be more painful and take longer. A gentle exfoliation a day or two before your appointment can help lift hairs and prevent ingrowns, but don't overdo it. Also, try to avoid caffeine or alcohol right before, as they can increase sensitivity. A warm shower beforehand can also open up pores, making hair removal a bit easier. Now, about the pain. Let's be real, waxing isn't a spa massage, especially when you're dealing with a waxing strip pulling out dark hair from sensitive areas like the underarm or, *gasp*, a Brazilian. My underarm wax was a breeze compared to my first Brazilian! That area is incredibly sensitive due to nerve endings, and if you have thick hair like I did, it's going to be a shock. Many of you might wonder if leg waxing hurts more than a Brazilian – in my experience, absolutely not. The Brazilian takes the cake for initial discomfort! However, it truly does get easier. Each subsequent appointment, the hair tends to grow back finer and sparser, making the process less agonizing. You'll likely find your pain tolerance improves with consistency. Let's talk "before and after" expectations, because the internet can show some very idealized images. Immediately after your wax, expect some redness, especially in sensitive areas. It's totally normal, and sometimes tiny red bumps can appear – these usually subside within a day or two. If you're prone to ingrowns, that's where diligent aftercare comes in! In terms of long-term results, no, waxing doesn't permanently stop hair growth, but it significantly reduces it. Over time, you'll notice your hair growing back thinner, lighter, and slower. That super smooth feeling? It usually lasts about 1-2 weeks for me, and then the stubble starts to appear, but it's much softer than shaving stubble. This is why I find getting waxed every 5 weeks is my sweet spot for maintaining smoothness. And for those wondering about specific styles, beyond just "Brazilian," there are options like the "landing strip" or full removal. Discussing your preference with your esthetician beforehand is always a good idea. They're professionals and have seen it all! Finally, let's circle back to aftercare, because this is where you protect your investment and keep your skin happy. For the first 24-48 hours, avoid anything that can irritate the skin: hot showers, tight clothing, heavy sweating (so no intense workouts!), and yes, sex. Keep your hands off the freshly waxed area to prevent bacteria transfer. After that initial period, moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! I can't stress this enough. Keeping your skin hydrated helps prevent ingrown hairs and keeps it supple. Gentle exfoliation (again, 2-3 times a week, not daily) is also crucial to remove dead skin cells that can trap new hair growth. Using a product specifically designed for post-wax care can work wonders. Waxing has truly changed my routine, and while the first few times were a challenge, the smooth results and reduced hair growth make it totally worth it for me. Don't be afraid to try it – just go prepared and follow those aftercare tips!
