Im in my 30s and here’s what I learned

In my 20s I had 3 kids by 25 and was struggling thinking I would have it figured out by 30. I’m 33 now and finally getting into a spot where I’m happy with my life and the choices I made.
I thought I would be married and own a home before 30 and have no debt and the dream job but I don’t have it all figured and it’s ok. That is not always the case as everyone's journey is different.
In my 30s I have learned to:
Not compare myself. Not judging my journey against someone else’s as they didn’t go through the things I did or the struggles I endured.
Im not perfect. My body isn’t perfect and it’s ok and I can live with that. I’m not the model but I try to keep myself from saying negative things about my appearance.
My job. I stayed with my job almost 5 years before being promoted and I feel at peace. It’s not the dream job but I like my coworkers and my bills get paid.
I can still follow my dreams and wishes because there is no deadline for things I want to do in my life Easton
Entering your 30s often brings a shift in perspective, priorities, and self-awareness. Many people face pressure to achieve certain milestones like marriage, owning a home, or career success by this age—but it’s important to understand that everyone’s journey is unique. Learning to avoid unhealthy comparisons and accepting imperfections in body and life can significantly improve mental health and happiness. Accepting your appearance without harsh judgment fosters positive self-esteem. Studies show that reducing negative self-talk can enhance overall well-being and reduce stress-related symptoms. Embracing your own story, including struggles and achievements, discourages unrealistic expectations and supports emotional resilience. Career-wise, finding peace with your current job situation—even if it’s not the dream role—can boost job satisfaction and reduce burnout. Connecting with supportive coworkers and recognizing steady progress, such as long-term employment leading to promotion, nurtures a positive work-life balance. Importantly, there is no deadline for pursuing dreams and personal goals. Life stages may vary widely, and many adults find greater fulfillment when they remember that growth and new experiences are possible at any age. The inclusion of hobbies, artistic pursuits, and simple daily pleasures like enjoying coffee or reading manga can enrich life and provide balance. For those living in or near places like Easton or similar communities, embracing local culture and opportunities can also enhance the quality of life during your 30s. By focusing on what you can control and appreciating your personal journey, you build a lasting foundation of happiness and self-acceptance as you continue into the next decades of your life.
