4D3N Shanghai Itinerary Free & Easy (Day 3)

Woke up and decided to go shopping. Pop in an impromptu shopping mall at Global Harbour (address in picture).

We took a didi from our hotel, that is around 25 mins, ~RMB40 for standard fare.

It is one of the most luxurious, largest and elegant malls in Shanghai! The mall has a cathedral-like ceilings and European-styled architecture that is photo worthy! it was not too crowded at around 10am-11am in the morning!

We also explored the roof top that has a lot of bars and eatery that is worthy trying.

After that, we took a Didi back to The Bund area for the sightseeing tunnel wanting to experience the feeling of reaching the opposite side of Shanghai, without the usual route of didi or boat ride.

For that quick quirky mode, we went to the counter and purchase the tickets. It wasn’t the cheapest, 50-60Rmb for a very short ride.

It was the fastest way (~5 mins) ride from Puxi to Pudong.

The experience was interesting with flashing lights and some audio in a 360 degree transparent capsule. We only did a single trip 😂

we reached the Pudong side, where we saw the Pearl Oriental, and strolled towards the famous LuJiaZhui for some photoshoot! (You can browse 小红书 for some inspo- 陆家三件)We spent around 2 hours for the entire experience at Pudong.

Thereafter we ended off dinner at The Commune Social where we didi over. Please make a reservation if you want to have your dinner experience satisfied as there was a queue when we have arrived around 7.30pm.

Oriental Pearl TV Tower

3/22 Edited to

... Read moreDuring my visit to Shanghai, I found that starting the day early to explore the luxurious Global Harbour mall really paid off. It’s not just a shopping destination—its cathedral-like ceilings and European-styled architecture make it a stunning place for photos, all without the usual crowds if you go mid-morning. The rooftop bars and eateries offer a great way to relax and enjoy the city vibe before heading out. One highlight that I personally recommend is the Bund Sightseeing Tunnel. It is a quick and quirky way to cross from Puxi to Pudong, providing a unique experience with its 360-degree light shows and audio effects inside the transparent capsule. Although the ticket price is on the higher side (about 50-60 RMB), the five-minute ride is memorable and different from usual travel methods like Didi or boat rides. The tunnel adds a fun, almost futuristic element to your Shanghai adventure. Once on the Pudong side, the majestic Oriental Pearl TV Tower is a must-see. Nearby, LuJiaZhui offers fantastic spots for photos, especially for those who enjoy cityscape shots. For inspiration, browsing social media platforms like 小红书 (Xiaohongshu) for '陆家三件' can spark creative photo ideas. Ending the day at The Commune Social was a treat. This trendy restaurant combines fantastic cuisine with a lively atmosphere. Make sure to reserve a table, as the place is popular and queues form quickly in the evening. Taking a Didi ride both ways was convenient and affordable, with rides usually around 25 minutes. Overall, the blend of shopping, sightseeing, and dining made the third day in Shanghai both relaxing and exciting. For travelers, it’s a great balance of indoor and outdoor activities with plenty of unique experiences to capture and cherish.
