One thing I've learned is that sun protection isn't just for the beach; it’s vital even when you're around the pool, outdoors for a walk, or just running errands. The reminder I always keep in mind comes from a group of friends who jokingly call themselves "sunburn sisters," because we've all forgotten sunscreen at some point and suffered the consequences. Sunscreen application is key, and I make sure to use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30, applying it generously 15 minutes before sun exposure. Reapplying every two hours and after swimming or sweating really helps prevent that painful redness and peeling. I also wear protective clothing and hats when I know I'll be outside for extended periods. Besides preventing sunburn, skincare after sun exposure is important. Using moisturizing lotions or aloe vera gels helps soothe irritated skin and speeds up healing. Drinking plenty of water also supports skin recovery and keeps you hydrated. Spring and summer bring beautiful sunny days, but they also bring the risk of overdoing it with sun exposure. Whether you’re at the pool, club, or just enjoying outdoor activities, don’t forget the cardinal rule: wear sunscreen. It's a simple habit that’s worth the effort to keep your skin healthy and avoid the painful mistake of sunburn.
