A bit of a late post, since I’m now 9 days post op! Bruising definitely got worse. I would say it peaked around 7 days post op! #vericoseveins #vericoseveintreatment
Having undergone varicose vein removal recently, I wanted to share a bit more about what the recovery process looks like from my experience. In the first few days after surgery, mobility can feel limited, and swelling and bruising are common as the body reacts to the procedure. Around day 2, I was able to remove my bandages carefully, which was a significant milestone and made me feel more confident about progressing in recovery. By day 7 post-op, the bruising tends to peak, which might be discouraging to some, but it’s a normal part of the healing. Keeping the legs elevated and wearing compression stockings as advised by your doctor can help reduce discomfort and limit swelling. I found that gentle walking and avoiding prolonged standing sessions really helped improve circulation and speed up healing. It’s important to listen to your body during this time and avoid strenuous activity until cleared by your healthcare provider. Hydration and a balanced diet also contributed positively to my recovery. Sharing my experience here to encourage others going through similar varicose vein treatments to stay patient and consistent with aftercare routines—it truly makes a difference in outcomes!
