After my incredible journey through Kyoto, I just had to share more about what makes it such a truly beautiful place in Japan. While the main attractions like Fushimi Inari and Arashiyama are breathtaking, there's so much more to discover if you want to truly immerse yourself in Kyoto's timeless charm. One of my favorite ways to experience the beauty of Kyoto was simply wandering. I stumbled upon so many serene backstreets in Gion, where I caught glimpses of geiko (Kyoto's geisha) making their way to appointments. The traditional wooden machiya houses, especially at dusk, create an atmosphere that feels straight out of a painting. It's a different kind of beauty, quieter and more intimate than the grand temples. For nature lovers like me, beyond the famous Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, I highly recommend visiting some of Kyoto's lesser-known gardens. For example, Tenryu-ji Temple, right near Arashiyama, has an incredible landscape garden that dates back to the 14th century. It’s perfect for a peaceful afternoon stroll, offering stunning views in every season. Another hidden gem is the Okochi Sanso Villa, the former home of a silent film actor, which boasts meticulously maintained gardens and breathtaking panoramic views of Kyoto and the Hozugawa River. It truly lives up to being a 'Beautiful Place In Kyoto'. And let's talk about the seasons! If you can, try to visit during spring for the cherry blossoms (sakura) or autumn for the vibrant fall foliage (koyo). I went in autumn, and the fiery reds and oranges at Kiyomizu-dera Temple, especially during sunset, were absolutely unforgettable. The temple's wooden stage provided a spectacular vantage point over the city, framed by the stunning autumn leaves. It felt like walking through a dream. To fully appreciate the beauty, consider taking a traditional rickshaw ride through Arashiyama or even a boat trip down the Hozugawa River – it offers a unique perspective of the surrounding natural beauty. Don't forget to savor some matcha tea at a traditional teahouse overlooking a tranquil garden; it adds another layer to the experience. Getting around by bus or renting a bicycle allowed me to discover so many unexpected beautiful spots. Just remember to wear comfortable shoes, respect local customs, and take your time. Kyoto isn't just a place to see; it's a place to feel, to breathe in the history, and to truly understand why it's considered Japan's timeless cultural heart. Every corner holds a new discovery, a new 'Beautiful Place In Kyoto' waiting to be admired.
