Most people don’t think twice about salmon bones, but with a little patience, they can become beautiful pieces of wearable art. For this project, I: • Carefully cleaned each vertebra by hand. • Removed any remaining tissue and cleaned out the spinal canal. • Soaked the bones in Dawn dish soap

Turning salmon skin into jewelry-ready leather! 🐟✨ This piece was cleaned, soaked in a 50/50 vegetable glycerin and isopropyl alcohol solution for two days, then gently worked by hand as it dried. The goal is to create a preserved fish leather that’s flexible enough to work with while still hold
