Bi-weekly Budget | my biggest paycheck ever

Last pay period I worked 130.23 hours - I usually work a lot of overtime but this is the most I’ve ever done! It was definitely very tiring but I think it was worth it since it’s allowing me to put a good chunk of money back for things I really want and into my emergency fund. After this paycheck I’ll have my medical debt completely paid off and I’ll be one step closer to meeting my savings goals!

Savings Goals | Current Balance:

Italy & Malta $1,500 by May 2025 | $157.82

Serbia, Romania, & Hungary $1,500 by October 2025 | $0

Emergency Fund: $12,000 ASAP | $150

Future Home: $20,000 January 2027 | $0 - this one is a little unlikely but I’m hopeful!

Debt to be paid off:

Affirm: $331.86

Phone: $518.61

Ruth: $700

Car: $12,923.66

It’s a very recent development that I’ve been trying to be mindful of how I’m spending my money, which is why my savings are quite low.

My two biggest priorities are traveling while

I’m young and saving for a house, what do you prioritize when making decisions about purchases? What are you currently saving for? Do you have any tips for budgeting?

... Read moreNavigating financial priorities can be challenging, especially when aiming to balance savings with debt payments. In my recent bi-weekly budget, I worked an impressive 130.23 hours, generating a paycheck that has allowed me to make significant strides towards my financial goals. My current focus is on establishing an emergency fund and maximizing my travel budget to explore Italy, Malta, Serbia, Romania, and Hungary by 2025. Transforming my spending habits has played a pivotal role in my financial journey. By diligently tracking my expenses and actively managing my debts, including $12,923.66 for my car and smaller balances on Affirm, my phone, and medical bills, I'm working towards becoming debt-free. It's vital to set achievable savings goals—$150 for my emergency fund and $800 to secure my future home by January 2027—while staying realistic about my budget for non-essentials. Implementing small changes, such as allocating $250 for groceries and ensuring all bills are accounted for in my budget plan, has made a difference. This journey highlights the importance of community support and shared experiences. I encourage readers to reflect on their priorities when budgeting. What are you saving for?
