STOP 6 — LAC LA BICHE & HEART LAKE, ALBERTA 🌲

(We're less than a week away to the new year and counting down to the final stop on NYE!)

Lac La Biche is one of those breathtaking places where nature just pulls you in. With its serene waters and little islands to explore, you could spend days just soaking in the scenery. We had a ton of fun kayaking the lake. Sir Winston Churchill Park felt like a hidden gem, a little road leading you right into the heart of the lake’s wilderness.

But the adventure didn’t stop there. We headed a bit further north, out into the beautiful wilderness toward Heart Lake. It’s a bit of a jaunt from Lac La Biche, but absolutely worth it. This is where we experienced an incredible powwow immersing us into the heart of Indigenous culture and tradition. It was a powerful reminder of the rich history and the people who have called this land home for generations.

The community at Heart Lake was incredibly welcoming, and seeing the passion and spirit in their dancing was unforgettable. It’s a side of Alberta that everyone should get to know — a blend of natural beauty and deep cultural roots that makes this place truly special.
