🌾 STOP 3 — EDBERG, ALBERTA 🌾
Edberg was the smallest gathering of my entire journey —
and it had the biggest impact on me.
I attended a Taco Trivia Night at Cherry Lane B & B. In a city, this would just be another event on a calendar.
Here? It was a lifeline.
Farmers. Country families. Neighbours from across Camrose County came together for connection, laughter, and a night off the land. The theme was Day of the Dead — and honestly, it felt fitting.
Too many small villages like Edberg and Ferintosh are under real threat. They don’t stand as their own municipalities. Growth is hard. Resources are limited. It would be easy for these places to fade away.
But that’s not what I saw.
I saw people choosing community.
I saw joy. I saw resilience. I saw a village that may be small and struggling — but whose people are absolutely thriving.
This stop made something crystal clear to me:
Putting a spotlight on towns like this matters.
While so many of us are trying to survive in big cities, places like Edberg offer something increasingly rare — affordability, belonging, and a deeply fulfilling way of life. These communities don’t need saving. They need people.
#Edberg may be small — but it left a big mark on me.
