Banana crumb cake 🍰
what you need +
(for the cake)
- 2 cups flour
- 3 tsp baking powder
- pinch of salt
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 4 bananas, mashed
- 1 stick unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla bean paste (for the crumb)
- 2/3 cup flour
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- pinch of salt
- 6 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tsp cinnamon (for the icing)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2-3 tbsp milk
how to make 7
(1) preheat oven to 350 degrees
(2) mash your bananas in a bowl and set aside
(3) add the dry ingredients to a bowl & set aside
(4) in another bowl, add the butter & use an electric mixer to beat until fluffy
(5) add the sugar & beat until fluffy
(6) add the eggs and vanilla & mix, then add the bananas & mix until combined
(7) slowly add the flour & milk and mix until everything is combined
(8) to make the crumb, add all of the ingredients to bowl - use a fork to combine everything but make sure it stays crumbly
(9) line a 9x9 baking sheet with parchment paper & pour half the batter in
(10) add 1/2 of the crumb over the top of the batter then add the rest of the batter, & add the rest of the crumb
(11) bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown or until a toothpick comes out clean
(12) combine the icing ingredients together and drizzle over the cake after it's cooled for about 15 minutes
