✨ Smothered Chicken Drumsticks ✨

Season your chicken drumsticks with:

• Kinders The Blend

• Seasoned salt

• Adobo

• Paprika

• Garlic powder

• Onion powder

In a pan, add a thin layer of olive oil and sear your drumsticks on both sides until golden brown. 🍗✨

Take the chicken out and set it to the side. In that same pan, add your sliced bell peppers, onions, and minced garlic. Let everything cook down until soft and flavorful. 🫑🧅

Next, add:

• 1/4 stick of butter

• 1/2 box of chicken stock

• A little flour (measure with your heart 😂)

• Some country gravy mix (also measure with your heart)

Stir everything together and add about 1/3 cup of water. Let the sauce cook and thicken up a little. 🤍

Add your chicken drumsticks back into the pan with the gravy mixture. Cover with foil and bake at 350°F for 35–40 minutes, or until the chicken is tender and falling off the bone. 😮‍💨✨

Serve over white rice with a side of cornbread for the perfect comfort meal! 🍚

... Read moreIf you're a fan of hearty, comforting meals, smothered chicken drumsticks are a fantastic choice to try at home. The key to this dish lies in the rich, flavorful gravy that coats the chicken, making each bite tender and juicy. From my experience, seasoning the chicken generously with a blend of spices like Kinders The Blend, seasoned salt, adobo, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder gives it a deep, complex flavor that stands out. When searing the drumsticks in olive oil, be sure to get a nice golden crust on both sides—that initial caramelization really locks in the juices. After removing the chicken, cooking down bell peppers, onions, and minced garlic in the same pan lets you build layers of umami in the gravy. Adding butter, chicken stock, and a bit of flour to thicken the sauce, along with some country gravy mix, results in a smooth, velvety texture that clings perfectly to the meat. Covering the pan and baking the drumsticks at 350°F for about 35 to 40 minutes ensures the chicken becomes fall-off-the-bone tender. I often serve this with simple white rice to soak up the delicious gravy and a side of cornbread for a complete Southern-inspired comfort meal. For those looking to customize, adding a splash of hot sauce or a hint of smoked paprika can bring an exciting twist. This recipe is forgiving and adaptable, making it perfect for family dinners or meal prepping for the week. Plus, it’s a great way to incorporate flavorful spices that might be unfamiliar to you, like Kinders The Blend. Overall, smothered chicken drumsticks offer a cozy dining experience that brings warmth and satisfaction, especially on a cool evening.
