Bigger goals, Reading goals

A wise drag queen once said that “reading is fundamental” and that’s why I’m starting my daughter off early with reading.

I found out about the 1,000 books before kindergarten and I think it’s an amazing program!

Do you have reading goals set for your kidos?

We’re trying to reach for the stars and ready well over 1,000 books! I think it’s a fantastic idea because it gives your baby the opportunity to hear different words that you might not use daily!

What’s your favorite children’s book?

... Read moreEncouraging young children to read early in life can significantly enhance their vocabulary and comprehension skills. The '1,000 Books Before Kindergarten' initiative is a fantastic program designed to motivate parents and children to read together. The aim is to help your child enjoy a rich array of stories, introducing them not only to new words but also to different cultures and ideas through literature. Reading aloud with your children cultivates their imagination and creates bonding moments. Aim to choose a diverse selection of books that cater to various age groups and interests. Engagement in reading time also allows parents to ask open-ended questions after stories, prompting critical thinking skills. As you set these reading goals, consider tracking your progress using a reading log or calendar, making the experience rewarding and enjoyable for both you and your child. Feel free to share your progress on social media using hashtags like #1000BooksBeforeKindergarten or #ReadingWithToddlers to inspire others. Remember: every book read is a step closer to reaching those exciting reading milestones!
