The last two movies of this series I remember the least of because they are the ones I often do not rewatch. It’s hard to watch them knowing that a number of my favorite charters go through it in these movies. Finished off the series I walked a total of 50.96 miles! Which is quite the accomplishment!
I was going to watch Fantastic Beast next but it was removed from Peacock. So if you have any series suggestions send them my way!
... Read moreWow, finishing the Harry Potter series with my walking marathon felt like an epic journey in itself! For anyone thinking about trying a movie-themed fitness challenge, let me tell you, it's seriously rewarding and a fantastic way to blend your hobbies. When I started 'Let's Walk: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 & 2', I wasn't just passively watching; I was literally walking through the wizarding world with Harry, Ron, and Hermione, experiencing every twist and turn with my own two feet.
The final two films, Deathly Hallows Part 1 and Part 2, are incredibly intense, and honestly, that energy helped keep my legs moving! There were moments in Part 1, especially during the darker, more desperate scenes in the forest or at Godric's Hollow, that I found myself pacing faster, almost mirroring the characters' urgency. I clearly remember checking my fitness tracker after Part 1: a solid 2h 23m of time walked, totaling 6.57 miles! It truly put into perspective how long these epic films are and how much ground you can cover without even realizing it. This wasn't just the 'run time' for the movie; it became my personal 'time walked' metric too.
Then came Deathly Hallows Part 2, the grand finale. The Battle of Hogwarts, the ultimate showdown – it's all so climactic and emotionally charged. The feeling of 'it all ends' was palpable, not just on screen but in my own challenge. As I watched the iconic 'it all ends 7.15' tagline from the original movie poster come to life on screen, knowing this was the culmination of Harry's story, every step felt more significant. I pushed through the final battles, and hitting that 2h 3m of time walked for 5.34 miles during Part 2 felt like crossing a finish line in its own right. Overall, racking up over 50 miles throughout the entire series was an accomplishment I'm genuinely proud of. It’s amazing what you can achieve when you find an activity you truly enjoy!
For those curious about how to make your own movie marathon walk happen, here are a few practical tips I picked up:
First, choose a film or TV series you absolutely adore. That emotional connection and familiarity will be your biggest motivator to keep going. Second, ensure you have comfortable shoes and a good setup for watching – whether it's a TV in front of a treadmill, a tablet you can glance at while walking in place, or even just walking around your living room. Third, don't forget to track your progress! Seeing those 'workout data' numbers, like my 6.57 miles and 5.34 miles for the Deathly Hallows films, add up is incredibly satisfying and a huge boost. Stay hydrated throughout, and listen to your body. Don't be afraid to pause the movie for a quick stretch, a snack break, or to just soak in a pivotal scene. Remember, it's your personal fitness journey!
This whole experience has made me realize how much I enjoy combining my love for stories with my fitness goals. It feels like a continuous 'gym part 4' – a new, fun chapter in staying active and healthy. Now that I've conquered the wizarding world, I'm itching for a new adventure. What movie series or even TV show would you recommend for my next walking marathon? I'm open to anything that can keep me moving and engaged. Share your suggestions, I'd love to hear them!
Oh wow that’s smart way to get in exercise I’d have to do that outside I’ve tried this on a treadmill it just didn’t work for me unfortunately
