Visiting a hair salon for the first time in a new country, especially France, can be both exciting and a bit nerve-wracking. French salons often emphasize a personalized, relaxed atmosphere that differs from my usual experiences back home. I found that communicating clearly about what I wanted was crucial since hairstyling terms and trends sometimes vary internationally. One thing that stood out was the French approach to hairstyling: it blends chic minimalism with subtle elegance. Stylists here are trained to enhance your natural look rather than completely transform it, which I found refreshing. If you’re planning your first hair appointment in France, my advice is to do some research on popular French hairstyles and perhaps bring reference photos to the salon to avoid misunderstandings. Also, booking an appointment ahead is essential as many popular salons, especially in Paris, fill up quickly. The service process might feel a bit slower compared to what you’re used to, but it allows the stylist to focus on detail and quality. Overall, my first hair experience in France was memorable and left me with a new appreciation for French beauty culture. It's a wonderful way to immerse yourself in local customs and pamper yourself during your travels.
