FIRST TIME MOM EDITION - PP 🌸✨
Here is my take as a FIRST TIMER - let’s be real I had no idea what I really needed and what was TRULY necessary. As a first time mom and when my second time comes around these are a few things I’ll make sure to have in my bag.
( My bag is from Amazon, totally recommend!! Comes with a small toiletries bag for makeup wipes, toothbrush, toothpaste, hair ties, claw clip, chapstick and such. Atleast that’s what I put in mine 💗)
1. Tucks - My hospital did provide a different brand of these that I did use but also brought these incase they didn’t!! Check with your hospital to see if they provide these for postpartum!!
2. Frida Mom Healing Foam - I loved having these just for a soft cooling comfort feeling. If i’m being honest, I didn’t know what it did exactly but it made me feel better and I’d put it in my bag AGAIN
3. Frida Mom Peri Bottle - PLEASE BUY THIS. You won’t regret it. I’m SO happy I brought this with me because I don’t know what I would’ve done without it after birth and not being able to shower right away. The hospital did provide one for me but it didn’t have this shower like head to really get in there if you know what I mean!! 😟
4. Dermoplast - Again, my hospital did provide me with a can of this but I also brought my own in case! GAME CHANGER if you have a vaginal delivery you will need this. I cannot imagine the uncomfort of not having it.
5. Depends - Do not make the same mistake I did and trust that I’d be okay & comfortable in the hospital provided one’s. I was so upset not having these after my first shower and having to use the mesh ones the hospital gave me. My pads did not feel secure and if I had one major REGRET, it was not having these on hand. ( I eventually sent my fiancé out to buy me some when I really just wanted him with me. Pack these!!)
6. + 7. If you plan to breastfeed, I would pack Lanolin Cream or any nipple cream you prefer just for comfort with breastfeeding. My milk did not immediately come in after birth so I didn’t do much breastfeeding then but still good to have. Also pack your pumps in case you need any help with setting them up or plan to consult with a lactation specialist for a peace of mind that you’re doing everything right! ( Made me feel 1000x better)
I really hope this helps any mamas out there. Love xoxo 💕🧸

Packing your hospital bag can feel overwhelming, especially for new moms. It's essential to have the right items to make your postpartum recovery as comfortable as possible. In addition to essentials mentioned, consider adding a few extras that can provide comfort and convenience. A good nursing pillow can be extremely helpful not just for breastfeeding but also for propping up your baby during skin-to-skin bonding. Don’t forget to pack comfy PJs or a loose dress to wear after delivery, which can make you feel more at ease than hospital gowns. Hydration is key, so bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated! Snacks like granola bars or nuts can provide quick energy in between meals. Also, consider packing a phone charger, as you’ll likely want to capture those precious early moments with your baby and stay connected with your support system. Lastly, a little comfort item, like your favorite blanket or pillow from home, can help ease the transition and make your hospital stay feel a bit more personal. These thoughtful additions can greatly improve your comfort during what can be a challenging time. Always tailor your bag to personal needs, and remember to check individual hospital guidelines for what they provide.
