I love getting lost in a book!

... Read moreThere's truly nothing quite like the feeling of opening a book and completely losing yourself within its pages. For me, books aren't just stories; they are a way to live a thousand lives or to find strength in a very long one. It's that magical escape, where the real world fades away, and you're fully immersed in another universe, another character's journey. Have you ever felt that? Where you're so engrossed you forget where you are? That's what I live for! Today, I wanted to share my personal top 5 books that have consistently given me that incredible 'lost in a book' experience. These aren't just good reads; they're portals to other worlds where you can genuinely live a thousand lives alongside the characters and find strength in their struggles and triumphs. "Project Hail Mary" by Andy Weir: If you love sci-fi with heart and humor, this is it! Ryland Grace wakes up on a spaceship with amnesia, millions of miles from Earth, and he's humanity's last hope. The way Weir describes scientific concepts makes them incredibly accessible and exciting. I completely lost myself in Ryland's mission, feeling every moment of discovery and tension. It's a phenomenal ride that will keep you glued. "The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo" by Taylor Jenkins Reid: This book is pure old Hollywood glamour, secrets, and an incredibly compelling story of a fictional film icon. Evelyn Hugo's life story is so vivid and rich, you truly feel like you're getting an exclusive peek into a real legend's life. The characters are so well-developed, and the twists keep you guessing. I found myself completely absorbed, trying to unravel her complex life and finding so much strength in her resilience. "Circe" by Madeline Miller: Miller reimagines the myth of Circe, the witch from Greek mythology, giving her a voice and a powerful, deeply personal journey. The prose is stunning, and the world of gods and mortals feels incredibly real. I was transported to ancient Greece, experiencing Circe's exile, her growth, and her struggles. It's a beautiful story about finding your own power and voice, and I truly felt I lived every moment alongside her. "Where the Crawdads Sing" by Delia Owens: This book is a unique blend of coming-of-age story, murder mystery, and nature writing. Set in the marshes of North Carolina, it follows Kya, the "Marsh Girl," who raises herself in the wilderness. The descriptions of nature are so immersive, you can almost smell the marsh. Kya's fight for survival and connection is heartbreaking and inspiring. I felt so deeply for her, completely losing myself in her isolated world and finding immense strength in her spirit. "The House in the Cerulean Sea" by T.J. Klune: This is a heartwarming, hopeful fantasy novel about an orphan caseworker, Linus Baker, who is sent to evaluate a secret orphanage for magical children. It's a story about acceptance, family, and finding your place. The characters are so charming and quirky, and the island setting is enchanting. I smiled, laughed, and even teared up while reading this, feeling so uplifted and truly lost in its gentle magic. It’s a perfect feel-good read to find strength on a tough day. These 5 books have been incredibly special to me, offering not just entertainment but genuine experiences of living a thousand lives and finding strength in different forms. If you're looking to truly get lost in a great book, I highly recommend picking one of these up. Happy reading, fellow bookworms! What are your go-to books for getting lost in?

One of my favorite things to do is roam the isles of the book store. One of the biggest ways to fall back in love with reading is by finding the genres you love. I think we get too caught up in the idea of what we think reading should be because of our relationships with reading as a child.
