"Ghost in" around the press.
Last night I was invited to the media round of the Thai movie "Ghost in."
At SF Cinema, the Thai Complex is not just a ghost movie for me.
But the movie that talks about human "belief" is quite interesting.
What movies do is good for me...
It is not trying to tell whether ghosts are real or non-real, it is telling
"When a person believes something enough," fear, feeling, or even the invisible, it can become "true."
May call ghosts
Could be called mass supply.
It can be seen as a matter of schizophrenia or a mental state.
But in the end, the movie seems to be asking us
Human "truth." What is it measured by?
From what really happened... or what we believe to be true.
And I think it reflects our culture very clearly.
Because Thai society grew up with narratives, beliefs, rituals.
And the inexplicable thing is that when something happens, many people are always ready to believe in the supernatural.
While watching it, there were many times when I wasn't afraid of the ghost in front of me.
Instead, it felt more afraid of the "power of people's beliefs."
Because sometimes the scariest thing may not be the soul, but it may be when all humans believe in the same way without anyone questioning it.
Overall, for me, the movie has a depressing atmosphere, a rhythm that makes the viewer slowly sink into the feeling of the character rather than relying on jumpscare alone. Anyone who likes ghost movies with a point to think about after the end should like this story.
I give you 8 / 10 (I actually want 8.5).
