Being pregnant; I felt so beautiful.

Being a mom is difficult. Making time for yourself while being a good mom and being there for your children is a whirlwind. I genuinely felt the most beautiful while I was pregnant. My skin glowed. My hair grew, my nails were shiny and long. I love my children and I’m forever grateful to them. They changed my life for the better. I’m still beautiful but growing a human in my body I seen my glow. Postpartum is tough. You start to lose that glow but I’m determined to keep it. 3 months postpartum with a 1 year old. I’ve told myself and made this promise to me. This glow is gonna stick. #gettoknowme

... Read moreIt’s incredible how pregnancy can make you feel so radiant, isn't it? As someone who’s been through it, that 'pregnancy glow' isn't just a myth—it's a real, beautiful experience that leaves you feeling on top of the world. But ever wonder why it happens? For me, it felt like my body was working overtime, and in a good way! Increased blood flow really plumps up the skin, giving it that radiant look, and those hormonal surges? They can actually make our hair thicker and nails stronger. I remember thinking, 'Is this real life?' It was like my body was just showing off! While the glow feels magical, I learned there were things I could do to help it along. Staying super hydrated was key for me – I practically lived with a water bottle attached to my hip! And eating nutrient-rich foods, lots of fruits and veggies, definitely made a difference in how my skin felt. Gentle skincare, just a simple cleanser and moisturizer, kept my skin happy without irritation. And honestly, just trying to get as much rest as possible, even when it felt impossible, truly made me feel more vibrant. Then comes postpartum. Oh, the postpartum reality! It hit me like a ton of bricks. The hair thinning, the skin feeling duller, the constant exhaustion. It’s easy to feel like you’ve lost a part of yourself, that 'glowing' version you saw in the mirror. I remember looking at photos of myself pregnant and thinking, 'Where did that woman go?' This is where the 'Motherhood Real Talk' truly begins, acknowledging these changes without shame. But here's the thing I'm learning and want to share: the glow doesn't have to disappear forever. It just transforms. For me, reclaiming my radiance is about small, consistent acts of self-care. It's about finding 10 minutes for a quick face mask while baby naps, or making sure I drink enough water even when I'm chasing a toddler. I've found gentle exercise, like a short walk, really helps with energy levels and mental clarity. Investing in a good moisturizer and a gentle hair treatment for postpartum hair loss has been a game-changer. And honestly, sometimes it’s just about putting on a nice outfit, even if I’m just staying home. Don't forget about sleep – even if it's broken, prioritizing it when you can, makes a huge difference. Connecting with other moms who understand this 'Motherhood Real Talk' also helps, knowing you're not alone in these struggles. Motherhood changes us profoundly, inside and out. My body is different, and that's okay. It created miracles! The 'Motherhood Real Talk' isn't just about the hard parts, but also about appreciating the strength and beauty that comes with carrying and raising children. My goal now isn't to get back to my 'old' self, but to embrace this new, strong, incredible self. This glow is going to stick, not because of hormones, but because of self-love, resilience, and the sheer joy my children bring. We deserve to feel beautiful at every stage of this incredible journey.

Things that felt “weird” Single & Pregnant

stop shaming pregnant women
hello ◡̈ Pregnancy can be beautiful and magical but it’s also one of the hardest things a woman will ever go through. Feeling blessed doesn’t erase the struggle, and one woman’s gratitude doesn’t cancel out another woman’s hardship. Stop shaming women for being honest about what pregnancy is real
